“We live in a world of sensory and information overload. Creating a safe and quiet space in which to work is more challenging than ever.”
As an artist, there are moments when I struggle for inspiration. I find it best not to fight the inspirational morass. A “creative quagmire” is a place where I find I always learn and grow. I’m of the opinion that the secret to sustainable productivity is to create for yourself. Creating works for a particular market, or following trends undermines the creative impulse.
I paint in many layers—some opaque and some translucent. I strive to to represent time, and the living vibrations around us. I employ a unique style of layering, leaving an intentional pentimento in some of my work.
I hope you enjoy viewing the works. I hope they provoke thought and conversation, and more importantly, emotion.
